The Minha, Zara and Reyann Ansari Lionman Foundation was created in 2015 in response to a calling we felt as a family to help kids in other parts of the United States and the world.
For many years before, we were advocates and benefactors of non-profits in our hometown whose work supported vulnerable families and adults. Through our travels, we began to ask ourselves if it was enough. We came to understand we had to take a more global approach to philanthropy, and that we wanted to focus more closely on children’s needs. So together, as a family, we began the Minha, Zara and Reyaan Ansari Lionman Foundation. This is now the ongoing project of our lives.
Today, the Ansari Lionman Foundation hand picks the charities and causes to which we lend support.
As a family, we identify a need and come up with strategy that ensures lifetime impact for those whom our foundation helps. Whether the need is within the United States or across the world, our mission is to make a lasting and life-changing positive impact on people we serve.
We chose the name Lionman because the lion is a symbol of strength for whatever one chooses to achieve. It also combines the word Ironman, an athletic feat in which competitors run, bike and swim in a single event, an endeavor which has become a passionate hobby for our father, Bilal Ansari. These competitions have taken our family across the world, and exposed us to areas of great suffering and need. It is through our education of these areas that we choose how to help.
The Ansari Lionman Foundation is privately funded and receives no outside financial support.
